FAQs

We install heat pumps and electric panel heaters for Auckland homes and rentals. Heat pumps are the most efficient way to heat (and cool) a room or home, while panel heaters are a lower-cost, low-profile option that work well for supplementary or bedroom heating. We’ll help you choose what suits your home and budget.

Yes. The Healthy Homes heating standard requires a fixed heater that can directly heat the main living room to at least 18°C. It can’t be a portable heater, an open fire or an unflued gas heater. A correctly sized heat pump is the usual way to meet this, and we can work out the right size for your living room.

It depends on the size of the room, its insulation, windows and how it’s used. For rentals there’s a required heating capacity for the main living room based on a formula, and Tenancy Services has a heating tool to calculate it. We’ll size the unit correctly so it both performs and meets the standard.

A heat pump is the more efficient choice for heating a main living area, and it cools in summer too, though it costs more upfront. Panel heaters are cheaper to buy and great for gentle background or bedroom heating, but cost more to run for the same warmth. We’ll help you weigh it up for your home.

It depends on the size and type of unit and your home’s layout, so we price each job individually. Get in touch for a free, no-obligation quote and we’ll recommend the right unit for the space you want to heat.
